Book Reviews of The Crystal BibleBook Review: Useful Crystal guide but not very exciting or deep Summary: 3 Stars
This is a Useful book for people who want a standard introductory guide to some ( mostly)common crystals and stones for "New Age" uses and crystal healing. Each stone has a page with a picture and brief standard description of attributes and information about use for healing . There is a very tiny section in the back about the aura, chakras and methods of crystal healing. This incudes a bit about use of gem remedies, grids and Laying on of stones but is way too short. This is a book of crystal properties rather than instrutions on applications There is not much here about magic/kal uses but much could be deduced. The information is assembled from many other sources and is the same as you find in almost every other crystal book. The book is useful if not exciting or really connected with the evolving energy of the crystals. It presents Crystals more as objects and tools rather than as living spirits and partners or connectors with spiritual and healing energies and intellegence. There is nothing particularly original in this book but it is well done if limited. It coulds be a useful reference and is small enough to carry with you when you shop.
Book Review: Both a Compact and Comprehensive Resource Summary: 5 Stars
The Crystal Bible: A Definitive Guide to Crystals is a must have for anyone interested in learning about and healing with crystals. It is comprehensive, covering almost every aspect of working with the mineral kingdom possible but at the same time an easy read and a handy reference tool.
It guides you on how to select and use crystals and covers information such as using crystals for chakra healing and also grids. I love the appendices of the book, especially the quick reference guide for crystal selection for various ailments. What really won me over was the extensive crystal directory, which included almost every crystal known. The pictures are clear and beautiful and the description of each crystal and its variations are informative and thorough without seeming overwhelming. There is also an extensive description of crystal shapes such as wands, spheres and geodes to name a few and their various uses.
The compact size of the book allows you to take it anywhere and I continually find myself refering to it for information. I was quite happy that I purchased this book.
Book Review: A MUST HAVE BOOK for anyone who loves crystals Summary: 5 Stars
I have a fairly large library of books on crystals, vibrational healing and the like. I have Melody's "Love Is In The Earth," Diane Stein's two books on gemstones and others. But I have to say that Judy Hall and "The Crystal Bible" is one of the BEST books I have and one that I refer to on a regular basis. Her information is clear, beautifully presented and filled with insight. I definitely appreciate the true-to-life color photos of the stones that are featured in each chapter. Some books have photos that look nothing like the real thing! I feel when I read this book that I am getting a broad range of researched and cross referenced info that covers the spectrum from physical ailments to emotional and spiritual maladies. I especially like how she breaks down the info in each chapter and tells you exactly where the crystal is best placed upon the body for optimum benefit. I have recommended this book to many people. If I had to only own two books on crystal healing, I would choose this one and Melody's book. Outstanding! Well done! BUY THIS BOOK!
Book Review: better than i expected Summary: 5 Stars
i was going to get this thru one of those book clubs, but never did....but needed a really great book on crystals and rocks and so since i'd read good stuff about it in the book club reviews, i thought i'd check it out here and it got great reviews, so i went ahead and got it as well as two other books on crystals just to be on the safe side and as most people know, no two books about the same thing are exactly the same, so i figured the more the better...well, to get to the point, this book is good enough to stand on it's own....but if you still want go for getting another just for the extra possible info and pix....i try to have at least two on everything, but as i've said, this one is good enough to be on it's own....it's also a great size, it's thick, but it's is small enough to stuff into a carry-on or a large purse and not take up too much room... i love it!!!! this one will sit on my desk and not be stuffed in the bookcase!!
