Book Review: Good intro book, wrong factual data?
Summary: 4 Stars
This book was a godsend as it was reference book for me. I use it for discussing the crystals with my clients both as a Psychologist and Angel reader/Gemstone healer. The pictures are helpful to distinguish the different stones. I agree with H.Mason. She should mention Azeztulite is opaque white quartz-if thats what it is. I am still researching info on that. Angelite is another name for Anhydrite.
That said, the book contains metaphysical properties of the stones, what it does psychologically for you and the physical healing properties as well. I found that very useful in my line of work when people had questions as a "go to" guide for the issue. She did a nice job of dividing the knowledge into two volumes.The common or more widely known stones is in this book/volume. Volume 2 has the lesser known stones for the true Gem lover.
Book Review: Excellent Crystal Reference

I purchased this book about a year ago, and am still amazed at the amount of information conveyed within it! Since I've always loved crystals, and relatively recently began to explore spirituality (where the use of crystals seems quite important), I decided to go ahead and purchase this book.
When I ordered it, I thought that I would easily be able to memorize whatever info. was included for each crystal - I had NO idea just how many different crystals there were, and the extensive amount of info. that would be included for each! I can now see why it's used as a reference - as opposed to "light reading"!
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in crystals, and their many uses. It's jam packed with beautiful pictures and in depth info.
Book Review: Hate to slam this, but....

This book is really helpful for you if you already know what crystals you have in your collection, or if you just want to know the corresponding chakras or different uses. However, I bought this to help me identify a huge bag of crystals I bought and it fell short. The images are pretty hard to see, there should be more images of the different variations an agate can come in for example. It should have its original form, colored form, tumbled form etc. The index is pretty hard to use and not "idiot" proof. They fail to mention some major crystals that are out there and are just as important as a snowflake obsidian for example. If you know what you have, this book is very helpful, but if you're not an expert, probably not the cheapest and not the easiest book to get.Book Review: Consult often!

I don't know what I would do without this book in my collection. Each and every listing in this book (200+) has full colour photographs of the stone/crystal in question, making it an indispensable resource for identifying unlabeled specimens. With a bit of study, you can wow other people by your ability to recognize a stone by just peeking at it - the pictures are really that great!
Listings include information on well known and obscure stones alike, natural and manufactured, detailing metaphysical and healing properties, letting you know just how to use/where to place them to use them to their full potential. The properties of different colours/shapes of stones are also covered.
This will be a book that you will consult often. Worth every penny!

There are 400 pages covering Crystal Formation, Crystal Selection, Crystal Care, Crystal Healing, Crystal Meditation, Crystal Formation, Crystal Decoration, Crystal Shapes, Crystal Directory, Crystal Background, Quick Reference, Index, Glossary, and Useful Information. Over 200 crystals are featured, and hundreds of wonderful color photos are included, generously scattered throughout the entire book. This book has all kinds of extras including entries about crystal protection, crystal attraction, and bringing love into your life.
