Book Reviews of The Dice ManBook Review: Banging my head against a wall Summary: 3 Stars
This book could have been incredible. The characters, the orginality. This makes it all the more annoying that the actual narrative is so hit and miss! Maybe this is what you'd expect from dice theory, but Rhineheart keeps on twisting the story from porn to thriller and back again. It is worth reading, but don't be affraid to skip pages.
Book Review: Long Remembered Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book over 10 years ago, yet recommended it to someone I met in a bar in Oslo 2 weeks ago ! Such was its effect. When meeting strangers this is one book that I mention that will always make for a cracking conversation. The central idea is so delicious - to be ruled by the dice. One of life's "must read" books.
Book Review: My favourite work of fiction Summary: 5 Stars
This is simply my favourite work of fiction.
It seems to have everything:
Profound philosophy, (too often, it seems, taken literally; rather than as an analogous pointer.) Humour, (In the extreme) and ultimately a very mature and touching perspective on this crazy little thing called life.
Ten out of five stars.
Book Review: I've found it Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book about seven years ago and it has stayed with me ever since. Its notion of chaos has been incorporated into my "world-view." I had forgotten the title but my search on Amazon.UK under dice, located it. I had originally bought the book in UK so went to that site first. I want to buy this book and share it.
Book Review: Time is the best recommendation Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book nearly 20 years ago whilst working down in Rio de Janeiro. Its interesting concept has remained with me all that time. The book did not change my life, as the cover claims, however since I still recall it as being one of the best books I have ever read - 20 years after - speaks volumes (no pun intended)
