Book Review: KUDOS AND ANOTHER STANDING OVATION!!
Summary: 5 Stars

SCOTT KELBY DOES IT AGAIN!

Yes - you absolutely must buy this book and yes you should have them all. If you are not a "techie" person and just want to get to the nuts and bolts of taking good shots you must buy these books.

Scott Kelby talks to you like he's with you on a photo shoot and tells you exactly what buttons to push and settings to use without going through a long dissertation about why you should be doing things. His light hearted, comical style will keep you having fun while you are learning the secrets of the Pros. You'll also find out that if you've been waiting to break into the Pro world, you probably can start sooner then you think. Using these books as a wonderful guide will help you to improve not only your photos, but your whole work flow. You will gain more confidence so you can feel comfortable going to the next level in your photography.

I buy everything Scott Kelby. If you go to [...] you can sign up to get on-line training by some of the worlds top photography and photoshop professionals.

Can't wait for the next release.

Book Review: letdown :(
Summary: 1 Stars

After reading the first two books, I cannot help but feel that this one is a disappointment. Very little information was really useful for the amateur or beginning/intermediate photographer as the focus went to product and professional studio recommendations. If you are a person learning photography (or a hobbyist) you wouldn't use those chapters extensively (they mostly recommend what additional equipment to buy, which can expensive and of limited use for the non-professional) and if you are a pro, I would think you already know most of what is mentioned there. Then, the lenses chapter was very thin on information and its contents consisted mostly of knowledge that someone reading his third book would already know, given that most people would have read the other two volumes (and probably any number of magazines, blogs, etc). While the other two books are really good (especially the first one, which I would highly recommend), I wish I wouldn't have bothered with this one. It will sell, but I dare say that it would happen on the merit of the first series not on its own value.

Book Review: Great general reference book
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a beginner in the photography field and found this book very useful. The fact that I could look into the contents of the book before purchasing was very helpful when comparing to other books.
It is written in a way that is understandable to me, even when my native language is not English. Great flow throughout and useful explanations about equipment, how to use them and many tips in how to make your shots better, all from an experienced photographer in a hands-on practical way.
Scott Kelby mostly uses examples with Canon and Nikon equipment, so bear in mind if you are a beginner not familiar with the terms used with those brands.
I do not own the previous volumes and had no problem getting started on the first chapter of volume 3. I'm considering to buy the previous volumes, this book is so straight to the point that leaves me wanting to learn more.
The on-line access to equipment and videos is a great complement to the book.

Book Review: Not even close to the first two
Summary: 2 Stars

I am a big fan of Scott Kelby. I have a number of his books, including the first two volumes of this series, watch him on Photoshop TV and subscribe to NAPP. But I have to be honest . . . this book is a real let down. For me it is just a bunch of filler stuff and inconsistent with the theme of the last two books. In fact, I am really not sure who Scott intended for an audience. Much of the content is studio lighting and shooting products like a pro. Come on, how many armatures are going to run out an buy all of this additional gear. Scott has a section on shooting sports like a pro. How many people get a change to do that? And then there is a section on lens. Really, this is basic 101 stuff and should have been part of the first or second book . . . if at all. If I wanted a book for pro's I would have sourced one. What I wanted and thought I would get is another in a series of very helpful tips and tricks that I can use with my Nikon D300.

Book Review: Another Great Kelby Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I have all 3 Digital Photography Books by Scott Kelby as well as other wonderful well written books by him. I refer to the 1st and 2nd books frequently to keep my mind refreshed. Number 3 compliments the other 2 with professional tips. It is a wonderful hobby and Scott demonstrates lifetime knowledge in his books. If you are an advanced photographer, it might not be the book for you, but if you are a beginner or intermediate, this book as well as 1 and 2 will help a lot.

I have a problem with pre-ordering from Amazon as I ordered the book in March. The book sells now for 14.99 and my invoice says 16.49. I contacted Amazon and we will see if I get billed for the higher amount. Other than that, I have no complaints with Amazon as I have ordered many items from them and will continue to do so in the future.

Amazon responded very quickly and informed me that my bill would be adjusted to the $14.99 price.
