Book Review: A very good project gun book!

I was very impressed with this book and the weapon it describes. The design is very clear and easy to understand. The author is very knowledgeable and skilled and I enjoyed his way of communication and articulation. Technically be aware that machine shop tools/machines are required as are machining skills and shop knowledge, but it certainly is not rocket science. Prior to purchasing this book I read other reviews who criticized it and said that it is poorly done and crappy design. Ignore these reviews... Let me assure you as a professional mechanical engineer and journeyman machinist of 25 years, these poor reviews are by people who are simply ignorant and/or are wannabes who do not have a basic understanding of mechanical engineering and shop skills and simply have no business attempting to fabricate a weapon of any sort. The best part of the book: The prints in the book are in CAD and are very good, but there are some simple drafting errors, however they are still clear, complete and workable. The weapon described is not simple and does require relative tight tolerances to be maintained. You will need a decent machine shop's equipment to fabricate this weapon, and it can be completed in about 40 hours. If you do not have basic shop skills and the necessary equipment, then realistically dont buy this book thinking you are going to make the weapon with a hammer, propane torch and files. The do it yourself is a bit of a misnomer, so please be aware, and with all due respect, if you dont have the engineering skills/equipment, this is not a realistic project to expect to accomplish. The book is still a good read and is very interesting for anyone who is into mechanical things. Overall, I was very happy with the design and contents of the book and it exceeded my expectations by far! I certainly would recommend it to a friend.
