Book Review: Many seem to be missing the point....this is a decent read.
Summary: 4 Stars
I see in the reviews, that many people knock the author because her characters are not likable, but I don't know why one would need to like all of a book's characters to enjoy the story.
Yes, it is predictable, but to her credit I still wanted to finish the book even though I knew what would happen. The situations and characters are a bit over the top, but she does make some good points about Manhattan and the late 20s crowd...I know, I live in NYC and am in that age group. I think people will be able to look back and see this as a decent satire of NYC life for a certain class of people right before 9/11.
Four stars for me because the ending was just a little to contrived and cryptic for my taste. But good story telling!
