Book Reviews of The Enemy (Jack Reacher, No. 8)Book Review: Excellent read Summary: 4 Stars
I've only started to read Lee Child's Reacher series but in one word. Excellent. I love the tough guy character who isn't beyond going above and beyond what needs to be done. I've read at least three in this series and I will get the rest of them very soon. The Enemy pits him against a corrupt group in the military who will try to cover up a plot to change the military. Everyone has a price. Not Jack Reacher.
Book Review: Not Good Summary: 1 Stars
I could not finish reading this book. I heard good things about the Jack Reacher series but the writing in this installment is abysmal. Perhaps I should have started with a different book in the series. I can live with the military inaccuracies, but the book was painful to read. Also, if you don't know much about the military, don't describe it in such detail. Set up the scene and move on with the plot.
Book Review: Weird Military Mystery Summary: 2 Stars
This is a strange, sometimes compelling military mystery that really comes unraveled at the end. Big, tough M.P. commander Jack Reacher is suddenly moved from Panama to North Carolina and finds himself with a rash of killings on his hands. He discovers a power play that appears to reach the Pentagon's highest levels, but the plot becomes progressively dumber the more we learn about it.
Book Review: Not the Drifter Summary: 5 Stars
Never disapppointing, Child gives us the toughest ongoing character in fiction. this time, Reacher's not a drifter, but back in MP uniform. If I was a bad as reacher, I'd finally make the neighbor's dog stop barking and it wouldn't be pleasant for anyone watching including the dog. Child is an author who grows and grows.

Book Review: The Enemy Summary: 2 Stars
I am a big fan of Lee Child and his Jack Reacher novels, but this is the first one I have read that was sub-par. I still have two of his books left to read and my hope is that he will come back to his performance levels of the past.
I realize it is hard to turn out one good book after another, but we all love Jack Reacher and our expectations are high!
