Book Reviews of The Food Processor Bible

Book Review: Excellent all around cookbook
Summary: 5 Stars

This has always been one of my most used cookbooks for the last 20 years. I recently misplaced my old copy and am going out to buy another. Ms. Gilletz recipes are excellent all around (even if you don't have a processor) I use the book for its recipes not necessarily food processor advice. It is also great for kosher recipes. Some reviewers commented that there are not many jewish recipes. She must mean Ethnic. All the recipes are specificaly formulated to not mix ingredients that would render them unkosher to a strictly observant person. You need to be observant to recognize this. Buy this book, you will enjoy it for many years.

Book Review: 'the food processor bible'
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an excellent book. Before owning this book, I owned two other food-processing books by Jean Anderson and my food processor sat on the shelf.

The 'food processor bible, by norene gilletz, is an instructional and recipe-reference book. I'm using my processor several times a week now! The recipes are easy to follow and fit in with a busy life style; ingredients are on hand or easy to find.

This book is a time saver for me and motivating because the recipes are easy, quick and delicious!

Highly recommend this reference and cookbook for the beginner to advanced-creative cooks.

Book Review: Truly a Food Processor Bible
Summary: 5 Stars

After 38 years of using food processors I didn't think I could learn anything from another processor cookbook. How wrong I was! This book is a pleasure to read and each time I read it from cover to cover I learn something new. The tips are great and detailed. The recipes are varied and cover almost everything one might want to make from appetizers to desserts. They are simple to execute yet nice enough for dinner parties. Every recipe I have tried comes out perfectly. I find myself using this book as a reference as well as a cookbook. It has become one of my most used cookbooks and the one I now send as gifts.

Book Review: Excellent recipe book: way beyond food processing, but give me pictures!
Summary: 4 Stars

I've only started using a food processor regularly within the past 6 months. I got this book for Christmas and so far it has been excellent. I really like how the recipes are unique and not just the same old but with food processor directions. My favorites so far are the minestrone and the spinach souffle. The one thing I wish it had was photos. All recipe books can gain from having photos of some kind. When it comes to food processing, it's nice to have a visual representation of the different consistencies and textures.

Overall, great book but it'd be nice if there were images.

Book Review: False Advertising...
Summary: 2 Stars

This book really should have been called "The Kosher Food Processor Bible." Some of the recipes look pretty good (to be honest, I haven't tried any yet) but I was really put off by the fact that entire categories of food I enjoy (shellfish, for example) were missing. And calling for margarine instead of butter may be appropriate for kosher diets, but it's not good nutritionally or in the culinary sense. (And in case anyone suspects me of bias, I'm Jewish, but don't keep kosher.) I don't mind the idea of a kosher cookbook at all, but feel it should be clearly labeled as such.
