Book Reviews of The Greatest Salesman in the WorldBook Review: An amazing book! Summary: 5 Stars
It seems trite to say it, but reading this book was one of the greatest spiritual experiences (so far at least! ) of my life. This is the book that launched the career of Og Mandino, the author, and in the process, transformed the lives of millions of his readers, who put the information and learning in this slim volume into their daily lives. The book chronicles the experiences of a young man in the area of ancient Jerusalem, and his quest as he attempts to learn how to be a great salesman. In the process of his learning, he makes a decision that will influence his life forever. The book includes the wisdom of "ten scrolls" of learning, which the reader is instructed to follow. I have no doubt that if we have the courage to follow the wisdom in this book, it can alter our lives to an amazing amount.
Book Review: Touching and Life changing Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book about 6 years ago and read it once. A few days ago, I re-read this book and when I read Scrool II, suddenly tears started flowing and I didn't even know why. It touched me so deeply, bringing back memories. On the same day, I went to look up my old files and inside I found the same text of the scroll but in different language. I think it is a sign that I have to start living with the principles Og Mandino has set out in this book, especially scroll II..I will greet this day with love in my heart. It is really a powerful, motivational book that you need to carry with you all the time. If you read it once and not very impressed by it, I suggest that you read it again and again until the messages start to get into you. You'll enjoy this book to the fullest :) Success be with you!
Book Review: this book is a joke Summary: 1 Stars
I read it though, and then threw it away. It was a waste of my time. I am an ontrapanuer looking to sell my own product. The advice contained within "the secrect scrolls" (ha, ha) was just pure crap. Og discouraged higher education by stating that it is not neccarry to the sales man. He said to look at your potential customer like you love him/her (anybody selling anything appreciates their customers money, but come on I love my wife but to love my customer to make a sale. Why not just sell an excellent product at a fair price and satisfy both yourself and the customer. Good luck reading this and becoming the greatest salesmen. Do yourself a favor and save the five bucks you are going to spend on this book and apply it towards a marketing class at your communtity colloge.
Book Review: The Greatest Motivational Author in the World Summary: 5 Stars
Og Mandino's classic tale is not just about sales. It is a living, breathing manuscript about life, written with God's love and a testimony to Mandino's own rag to riches tales. For those who have not the luxury to meet with a mentor or a life coach, Mandino's series of "Greatest..." will certainly come as a close second. Start off with Hafid's tale in Salesman, then Salesman II. After which, trail Mandino's curious journey with ragpicker Simon Potter in Miracle, The Return of the Ragpicker and Mystery. His skills are based on the Autosuggestion technique so results may vary from individual to individual. However, Mandino's engaging style, backed by his personal experiences make his timeless tales delightful to read as stand-alone inspirational fiction.
Book Review: this book is the story of my life. Summary: 4 Stars
I don't have much to say, since I am not a frequent reader. But I did spend some time reading "The Greatest Salesman in the World". As I began to read it, It really brought me down since it began in the end of the main character's life. The reason it brought me down is that my father named me after the main character. My name is Hafid, and I AM a salesman, and today I came to find out tghat my sales were the greatest for this month. I was really compelled to find Mr. Mandino, since he visited my country (Costa Rica) about 21 years ago. I still have the copy of his book in Spanish signed by him. All I want to say is Mr. Mandino's book is the story of my life.........but my life is not near the end. It's just beggining.
