Book Reviews of The Greatest Salesman in the World

Book Review: Nothing but Affirmations
Summary: 1 Stars

This book sucks,
It should be titled "Book of Affirmations" instead.

The first 8 Chapters are about a fictional character and how he got these scrolls that are supposed to make him the best salesman in the world.
There is really nothing to learn from the story, Its more like just a background story to make the last 8 chapters in the book seem important.

Then the last 8 chapters are nothing but Affirmations.
The Author tells you to read each chapter everyday for 30 days.

Its nothing but a glorified Hypnosis CD in book form.

I think the only reason this book sold so many copies is because of it's cover.

Book Review: The Greatest Quest In Life
Summary: 5 Stars

In this powerful book, Og Mandino shows why love and faith are so vital to our lives.

The answer to so many of life's problems is found in this statement: I will greet this day with love in my heart.

Love never fails. Therefore, if we learn to walk in love, then we are never going to fail either.

Og mandino also tells us how to turn around even what seem to be impossible situations by walking in the never-ending faith.

This book teaches how to let the never-failing love and the never-ending faith dominate our lives rather than to allow our emotions to rule us.

So be it. We are to make the never-failing love and the never-ending faith the greatest quest in life.

Book Review: A Nice Book To Read When Confusion Appears
Summary: 4 Stars

This is the first book that I read for Og Mandino. I think this mind carries a lot of wisdom to be conveyed to people who are seeking assurance and hope in this world.

My only concern is the story itself. I started the book with enthousiasm to know what will happen to the salesman and how he would apply the wisdom he is learning. But, unfortunatly, there was no story. Only beautiful metaphores but no examples and illustrations from his life. I beleive that the application of the philosophy would have made the author's point clearer and more relevant.

Yet, I have to admit, that I couldn't get my eyes off the book before I found the back cover facing me.

Book Review: I will persist until I succeed
Summary: 5 Stars

I was told to read this book in my Intro. to Business class for extra credit, I started it with little enthusiasm, but once I scratched the surface, I was able to really feel something, I don't know, words cannot describe it. I have found a way to feel good about what I am doing, and profit from it as well. Og Mandino has shown me that there is so much more to selling than the act it's self. There is the very important INTRINSIC reward that one gets when he helps someone else. This book has changed my life with just one reading. I am going to read it many times in my life, that is for sure! Thank You Og Mandino... And I thank my Business teacher as well...

Book Review: A MUST FOR NEW BUSINESS START-UPS AND THOSE NEW TO SALES
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are just starting a new business that requires you to sell your services to others, especialy if you are going to the client and not having the client come to you or your store, then this book is a must. If you have already experienced some defeats and don't know if sales is the life for you, then read this book! It is more of a soul searching book to see if you're truely up to the choices you 've made. Once you're inspired by its contents go on to more detailed books on selling techniques like 'How to Master the Art of Selling' by Tom Hopkins. My best wishes to you and may you're choices be yours - Jim Brown, Entrepreneur/Salesman
