Book Reviews of The Hard Way (Jack Reacher, No. 10Book Review: I have read FOUR Jack Reacher novels . . . . Summary: 4 Stars
. . . and if you knew me, you might be surprised. I write novels about California, where people swim naked, have sex, and smoke a lot of pot. Nothing like that happens in Lee Child's novels! But these books are thrilling, fast-paced, intriguing. And I must admit, I find them sort of sexy. Yes, sexy. The whole man without a country/family/homebase thing is the perfect escape from a life that's often made up of carpool lines, dishes and laundry.
Book Review: The Best of a Great Series Summary: 5 Stars
I've been a fan of the Jack Reacher novels since the beginning and though each of them is a powerhouse in its own right, The Hard Way gets my vote as the very best of the lot....and that's saying something.
Reacher has never been more calculating, tougher or more heroic...and Lee Child has never shown a more commanding hand at guiding us around the twists and turns of this dynamic and always surprising plot.
Book Review: He's a hard man Summary: 5 Stars
When it comes to exciting fiction Lee Child is right up on top with his man Jack Reacher. He is a one man killing machine,a mind like Einstein and a heart as big as Texas. When he is coming at you there is only one way to go, thats the other way. I certainly have enjoyed all the Novels with him and will continue to be satisfied with any in the future. I would highly recommend not only this Novel but all of the rest.
Book Review: SPREAD OUT THE ACTION A LITTLE Summary: 3 Stars
This was my first Lee Child read and after scanning a lot of reviews I expected more. During 90% of the book I thought Reacher was a pretty boring guy. He talks big and does nothing Columbo couldn't have done, he investigates. When the action scenes finally appear it is almost a surprise because I had seen no indication Reacher had it in him. Maybe I shouldn't have started this far into the series.
Book Review: The new Reacher Summary: 5 Stars
Reading The Hard Way, I was struck by the evolution of Jack Reacher, always superbly confident, always superbly capable. Fallible though -- his fear in the tunnel in Running Blind, the bad cops who get the drop on him in Without Fail. But in THW, we see Reacher at his peak. Immovable. Unstoppable. Invincible.
Reacher, alone in the dark. Waiting.
Sweet.
