Book Review: Hawaiin House Now - A delight

The Hawaiian House Now is a wonderful book.
I loved it for the following reasons. It covers a broad variety of house styles, periods and interior design styles, it does not just focus on the work of architects and designers but also the work of local Hawaiian home owners who are not designers. The book is wonderfully and thoughtfully written and I came away with a knowledge of Hawaiian architecture, and decorative styles as well as knowing more about Hawaiian history and culture. Its not just a "how to do an interior" type book which is what a lot of design books are but an introduction to an island and a taste of how Hawaiians live.
As an Australian women who lives at the beach this book was inspiring as it gave me new perspectives on design and inclusions for our own home.
I still have not finished it - I stop for a while and then curl up again to savour what's next...
