What would you do if you were taken by a band of dwarves? Would you go or stay? Well this situation happens to Bilbo. Bilbo is a hobbit and lives with his mother. He is brave and noble and has everything he can ask for. But all of that can change in a flash.
Gandalf, a powerful wizard, takes Bilbo on a long journey with a band of dwarves go to find the significant treasure of Thor. What's really significant about the treasure of Thor is that whoever finds it will be exclusively wealthy and have the best luck possible. This treasure is of course is not easy to find. Goblins, trolls, and all other kinds of monsters are in the path. Bilbo has a hard challenge that awaits him.
The Hobbit has a fantastic dialogue. J.R.R Tolkien makes you come into the book with her amazing dialogue. I could not let go of the book because of its dialogue, sudden events, and its great action. Though I have to admit that some events in the story have too much detail. I would recommend it to ages 12-17. Well I'll just go back to read it one more time.

Book Review: In a hole in the ground there lived a Hobbit...
Summary: 5 Stars

'The Hobbit', by JRR Tolkien, a book which is known through out the world as being the enchanting prelude to 'The Lord of The Rings' Trillogy. When I first read 'The Hobbit', I was a fourteen year old High School student who had, at that time, not yet learned the true enjoyment of reading. Considered by many to be a book for children, which indeed it is written to be appealing to children, it is also much more than that, in being a wonderfully enjoyable tale for all ages.

Bilbo Baggins was a Hobbit approaching middle age, living a respectable, and comfortable life in is little Hobbit hole. Then Gandalf the Wizard, along with thirteen Dwarves, appeared on his door step for tea one afternoon, and after that meeting, Bilbo's life was changed for ever, as was the fate of Middle Earth. Bilbo endured many adventures during his travels with Thorin Oakenshield and his band of Dwarves, as they quested for the enchanted gold of the Dragon Smaug.

All in all, a wonderful read, a wonderfully written story filled with magical beings that set the imagination to sparkle. I would suggest this book for any child or adult.

Book Review: Must Read
Summary: 5 Stars

"The Hobbit" is one extraordinary read of a book. I have to say that this book may be up with some of my favorite books.

I was introduced to this book from my father. I had to pick a book for my 10th grade reading project, and my dad brought up "The Hobbit". He said that when he was growing up, "The Hobbit" was one of his favorite books, so I decided to give it a try. It was worth it.

What I truly like about the book is that there is almost always something going on. You never find yourself bored with it or wishing that the characters would be more exciting. I could not find a truly dull moment in the book. I love Bilbo's evolution as a character throughout the story. I don't think that I found anything that I didn't like about this book.

If I had to recommend this book to someone, it would be to anyone who enjoys a true adventure. There are times in the book that you get sucked into the adventure and don't want to put the book down. Even if you're a person that usually gets bored with adventure stories, I can promise you that won't with "The Hobbit". It is a must-read for any fantasy/adventure lover.

Book Review: A Fair tale........
Summary: 5 Stars

If you have read the lord of the rings and been wondering how the hobbit came across the ring, then here is your book.
when I reached a couple chapters I asked myself the question"hey,why are I reading this,I am a sci-horror-fantasy reader,not fairy tale"..and I decided to stop reading.
I must admit, the story line is good and wonderful. But not for horror readers.
The story line is simple:It tells how the hobbit,Bilbo Baggins came across the Ring, after being called by Gandalf(the wizard) and a bunch of homeless dwarfs. It shows the obstacles they encounter on their journey and the challenges they face.Along with the knowledge they gain. Also there is a very scary dragon in this story.
The plot is simple and the book is short.
It contains everything children would look for in a fairy tale book:Elves, hobbits, ghouls,Wizards, trolls and lots more.
So,despite the fact that I didn't like this book I must recommend it to you,if you are a fantasy/fairy tale reader.

Book Review: Simply a Wonderful Story
Summary: 5 Stars

The Hobbit is a prelude to the epic The Lord of the Rings, but it still stands quite well on its own. This story tells of the finding of the Ring of Power, though at the time it seems a mere piece of luck and comes in quite handy for Bilbo during his adventure. More important to this story is the journey of Bilbo and the dwarves toward their ancient home, the Lonely Mountain, where Smaug the dragon sits atop their hoard of treasure. Always, the goal of reaching the mountain and reclaiming the gold (somehow) is foremost in their minds, even though they become sidetracked several times along the way. This is a perfect adventure story, ideal for reading to children or for anyone of any age. Bilbo, a seemingly insignificant person of a seemingly insignificant race of people, is a wonderful hero, as he finds that he possesses more courage and wits than he ever imagined. This is one of those books that everyone should read, if not for its relevance to the Middle-earth saga, but also because it's simply a wonderful story.
