Book Reviews of The Hollow (Sign of Seven Trilogy, Book 2)

Book Review: Did Nora Roberts actually write this?
Summary: 1 Stars

This series is so boring -- and this book was the worst. Author failed to make me care about the problem, too many characters that also do not seem to matter. The way these people talk is beyond annoying -- it is like somebody besides Nora wrote it. I used to love Nora Roberts, I couldn't put her books down from first page to last.

For example, once Fox agreed to be the surrogate father for his sister & her partner/girlfriend's baby, shouldn't that have figured somehow into the centuries-old-evil yarn? Why introduce this twist to the story and then not do anything with it? After he agreed it ceased to be a factor.

I am pretty much done with Nora Roberts after years of reading her faithfully.

Book Review: What can I say..
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the second book in a triology. The first book sets up the background and sets the stage for the first set of characters. Unlike other reviews I found that the background was more important because the characters continue into the next book. I think people who are giving so so reviews are loosing sight of the fact that it's a ficitional book. If you read all the same type of book all the time(especially by the same author)and you start to analyze and look for similarities you will find them. Read the book with spirit in which it was written. A ficitional story. I have this book as well as the first one and I love both of them, and I can't wait to read the last book. I will read it more than once.

Book Review: A good read but lacked any emotion.
Summary: 4 Stars

I found this book a great read but it lacked any real emotion, I usually rate a good book on weather it makes me laugh or cry with the story. I did not find any amusing points or any sad points. It really disappointed me. The story was good and I felt that I got to know the characters more but that was all it was, a story. I was excited when the "demon" showed up and was doing things, but that was the only time I felt anything. It was a book that did not captivate me enough to read it without wanting to put it down. The hollow was better than the first book in this trilogy, but I am anxiously awaiting the next installment in December so I can finally find out how they kill the "demon".

Book Review: Ok...
Summary: 3 Stars

I really like Nora Roberts, but I think that this novel fell somewhat short compared to her other works. This series feels diluted and underdeveloped in some areas and overdeveloped in others. I don't really feel the sexual tension and attraction between Fox and Layla, like I have in some of her other novels, it feels kinda forced. I feel like the setup in this series is very predictable- Cal and Quinn, Fox and Layla, Gage and Cybil, yawn. The backstory is somewhat interesting and that is probably the only thing that saves this series. I love Nora Roberts and have read everything she's put out, but I feel like some of the other reviewers: that her heart wasn't in this series.

Book Review: The Hollow is Missing Plot
Summary: 2 Stars

Book two in the Sign of Seven Trilogy is not a must read unless you are a huge fan of Nora Roberts.

I love Roberts, but her trilogies of late have the same story done to death.

Three men and three women come together to fight evil and find out they are soul mates along the way.

Its getting old, this book drove me crazy since we really do not get a sense of the backstory on the BIG BAD and just deal with the coupling up of the characters.

Its anti-climatic since you know that everyone is going to get together in the end and fall in love and defeat evil.

I recommend passing on this one.
