In this second book of the DELTORA SHADOWLANDS trilogy Lief, Barda and Jasmine must journey to find the second piece of the Pirran Pipe, the only thing the Shadow Lord fears on his own territory. But to get it they must face the horrifying Isle of Illusion.
Emily Rodda tells this story with terrific fluency. The SHADOWLANDS trilogy is a lot darker than the original series and is a bit more graphic but still it should appeal to many children. This adventure is intermitten with scenes from Del which tells of Sharn and Marilen's search to find a mysterious poisoner loose in the palace. But this new plan of the Shadow Lord's is doomed to sorely test them.
