Book Reviews of The Killer AngelsBook Review: Michael Shaara's "Killer Angels" Summary: 5 Stars
This is the definitive historical novel of the American Civil War, the "Gold Standard" all other contenders must measure themselves against. Told from the viewpoint of those who lived it, this novel puts the reader into the action at ground level. Icons of history like Lee and Longstreet become so human and real that the reader feels he/she has met them, knows them personally. A must for any lover of historical fiction.
Book Review: Amazing Summary: 5 Stars
I read this as a Junior in High School, and still have fond memories of such a stellar book. Currently, I'm in college to become a History teacher and definitely plan on implementing this into my class. This book had a major impact on my interest not only in the Civil War, but history in general. This book is fascinating, and is one of my all time favorites.
Book Review: The Worst Book Ever written Summary: 1 Stars
I despised this book! It was absolutely horrible! It was assigned as a summer reading book and it was just so bad! I enjoy reading books, fantasy, historical fiction, mystery, and even nonfiction! It was really really bad. I never want to read another book by Michal Shaara ever ever again! I never even want to hear or see the words Killer Angels again.
Book Review: The Best Civil War Novel Summary: 5 Stars
This review will be extremely short. This is, without a single doubt, the BEST Civil War novel that I have ever read and perhaps the BEST book that I have ever read. I only wish that Mr. Shaara had lived long enough to write others. If you only read one Civil War book in your life, please make it this one.
Book Review: Enjoyable Reading Summary: 5 Stars
A historical novel that comes to life. One of the best historical novels I have read in years. It is also a quick and easy read, due to the excellent writing by the author. If you have even the slightest interest in reading about the Civil War battle at Gettysburg, you will enjoy this book.
