Book Reviews of The Last ColonyBook Review: Worth While Summary: 5 Stars
If you like science fiction, you won't regret reading this book. If you enjoyed the other two books in this series, "Old Man's War" and "The Ghost Brigades" you definitely won't regret reading this book. This was a great series, I enjoyed reading all three books.
Book Review: Like reading Heinlein Summary: 5 Stars
This is the 3rd installment in the Old Man's War series. The story is unfailing in its cleverness and plot twists. As a fan of Heinlein, Scalzi channels this SF master as well as anyone I've ever read. I love Heinlein and Scalzi is a worthy successor.
Book Review: The Last Colony Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent book! I read Old Man's War and The Ghost Brigades before this and immensely enjoyed those. This one didn't disappoint. I read a lot of sci-fi and The Last Colony is right up there with the best in my opinion.
Book Review: A Fitting Finish Summary: 4 Stars
A logical conclusion to the excellent trilogy. Some details glossed over to allow the further "Zoe's Tale". But a real accomplishment, to hold the reader's interest over the 3 books, at a high level of storytelling.
Book Review: Scalzi is really good Summary: 5 Stars
My SF reading goes back to Heinlein's Rocket Ship Galileo. I really liked Larry Niven, but a couple of his books were offbeat. Mr. Scalzi writes very well and his stories have surprises--much better than tedium.
