Book Reviews of The Last Oracle: A Sigma Force NovelBook Review: Thoroughly Enjoyed - First Time Reader of Rollins Summary: 5 Stars
A lover of historical fiction and high-tech suspense, I found Rollin's story quite engaging. He kept at least 4 sub-plots fast-paced and intriguingly interwoven. He seems to have tapped all dynamics including - politics, relationships, egos, environment and ethics. The reader can go deep to ponder these things, or just enjoy the twists and turns of this literary ride. I'm looking forward to his next book.
Book Review: Worst Rollins book Summary: 1 Stars
I've read several of Rollins books, enjoyed them, but this was the worst book by any author that I have read in a good while. Normally I would have put it down and not bothered, but I figured it was a good way to ensure plenty of sleep. A good book I finish in 3-4 days, this took at least 2 months, very tedious, but good for sleep.
Book Review: pretty good, somewhat sloppy Summary: 3 Stars
One of several JR I've read. Fairly good story, tho not his best. I am really bothered, however, by writers in this genre, especially with his level of success, who are so ignorant or too lazy to get very basic stuff straignt. Was I the only one bothered by the fact that Chernobyl is in Ukraine, not Russia? That is just inexcusable.
Book Review: great ride! Summary: 5 Stars
The first book by this author that I read was The Judas Strain. It was that prosthetic hand's SOS that made me want to read the follow-up. I really liked the first one and I loved this one. After being so disappointed with The Lost (or Last??) Symbol, I was ready for a good read. This is well done. You won't be disappointed.
Book Review: Good action thriller Summary: 4 Stars
I admit that I get a kick out of reading this kind of end-of-times, worst-case-scenario, apocalyptic narrative. It's fun and it helps pass the time. So if you want to indulge in a bit of rollicking, rip-roaring, jolly-good-time escapism, reach for this book. James Rollins has come a long way since "Sandstorm." Good for him.
