Book Reviews of The Little Black Book of StyleBook Review: Just good. Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this along with Nina's other book, the one hundred, and while this one is good, I would recommend the one hundred way over this one. It's a nice read, and again filled with gorgeous illustrations, but I find that the other book is more useful for advice and a solid fashion foundation. The other one is also much longer.
Book Review: Not worth it Summary: 2 Stars
If you do not know that you should have a perfect little black dress and great accesories, buy this trite book full of white space and platitudes. Otherwise save your money for a great bag. Ms. Garcia is condesending and I find borderes on insulting to her reader's intelligence. Illustrations by Ruben Toledo are beautiful.
Book Review: Fabulous Read! Summary: 5 Stars
I thought it was great. I love to read abotu people who've been brought up in, or really embrace fashion, so hers was great. I would have also loved to hear more about her own family and personal edicts regarding fashion, as well as more of the music/fashion info...and perhaps more illustrations! Definitely more of those.
Book Review: Excellent Summary: 5 Stars
This Book is excellent for someone wanting to revamp their wardrobe or gain a true sense of style. Her book is one of the few books that actually list in detail the wardrobe staples needed. I found her persona narratives to be very interesting. ANd she even went over movies that influence fashion. This book is excellent
Book Review: A Lovely and Inspiring Book! Summary: 5 Stars
Out of all the books on fashion I have read, this is best hands down. Unlike many other books on style, the author succeeded on articulating intelligently just exactly what style is about. All the advice was clear and so true. I originally borrowed this book from a friend but I later bought this book; love it!
