Book Reviews of The Miracle of Mindfulness: An Introduction to the Practice of MeditationBook Review: A master of compassionate mindfulness practice Summary: 5 Stars
Mindfulness practice is a path in which every step is a step of compassionate engagement with every aspect of your experience, whether walking, talking with a friend or working with the suffering and anguish that exists in our minds. Thich Nhat Hanh teaches us how to smile at every encounter with reality. I also recommend 'The Path of Mindfulness Meditation' by Dr Peter Strong, an in-depth exploration of mindfulness meditation.
Book Review: A Helpful Introduction Summary: 5 Stars
While I have been doing daily mindfulness meditation since 1993,
this book was my introduction to the writing of Thich Nhat Hanh.
I found it extraordinarily useful, not only because of his helpful and clear suggestions, but also his example of kindness in the world. This book is a story told in a conversational tone, an instruction for beginning as well as long-term meditators, and a poem of hope for humanity.
Book Review: The Miracle of Mindfulness Summary: 5 Stars
From this book I learned how to be present with everyday events, such as washing the dishes-feeling the water, the weight of the cup, etc. and about when I walk to feel the wind, the movement of my body, my feet touching the ground. From there I practiced being aware of all my actions and thoughts and viewed them as meditation, basically I learned to pay attention to what I am doing, when I am doing it.
Book Review: An Outstanding Piece of WorK Summary: 5 Stars
I use this book as the required text for a Meditation Practices course I teach at our church. As is true of all his writings, the peacefulness and brilliance of Thich Nhat Hanh are clearly imparted throughout this guiding and inspiring book. This masterpiece clearly shows a path to being in touch with our inner Self and the peace that resides within. A must read for those on a spiritual path.

The Miracle of Mindfulness is a wonderful introduction to the practice of meditation. It's written simply with examples from everyday living that allow the reader to relate to his/her life. Thich Nhat Hanh teaches practical exercises in quiet breathing and skills of mindfullness. This is a book I read and reread often, especially in the quiet of my evening.
