Book Reviews of The Morrow Guide to Knots: for Sailing, Fishing, Camping, ClimbingBook Review: Great book, lots of pictures Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book for those learning knots or looking for instructions on how to make many different knots. Each knot has several pictures with text to help you learn the knot. It is a very handy book for the Scoutmaster.
My only wish was that the book would have been spiral bound so that it would lay flat. So I took the book and had a spiral binding put on it!
Book Review: An excellent manual for new boaters Summary: 4 Stars
I gave this book to a friend who just bought his first boat and he refers to it all the time - uses it for practice too. The pictures and illustrations are very clear - which is the most important part. You never have to ask "how did that piece go there?". The key is to practice a handful of knots so you can do them in the dark, or in a storm, when you really need them.
Book Review: Fabulous photo illustrations ! Summary: 5 Stars
I just received this book yesterday and I can say this is everything I hoped for! The photo illustrations are flawless, and they show every step of knot making with absolute clarity. There may be other good books out there, but I promise this one will serve to teach anyone how to tie any knot. A good photo illustration is worth a thousand words.
Book Review: Got em all this is the best. Summary: 2 Stars
I have a bookshelf full of knot books and each of them have something to recommend them but my favorite is Morrow Gide to Knots. It has almost all of the knots in it you would ever want to tie and it is so clearly illustrated and explained it makes learning them easy. Want to learn knots? Take a rope and Morrow and put them in the bathroom.
Book Review: Colourful and easy to understand Summary: 5 Stars
Well worth buying this book. A practical guide with lots of colour pictures of detail steps and completed kots. The guide is comprehensive and have 70 different knots, from utility knots, fisherman knots and beautiful decorative knots. I would recommend this to anyone, from a knot hobbiest to a serious outdoor adventurer.
