Book Reviews of The Original Adventures #1 (Hank the Cowdog)Book Review: Laugh out-loud fun! Summary: 5 Stars
We received this book as a gift and began reading it before bedtime to my 4 year-old last year. He might not understand some of the more subtle humor but he LOVES the slapstick!! And it is very easy to put a voice to every character! We have read two other Hanks and each one is just as funny as the first. Bedtime with the giggles at our house--- its worth it!
Book Review: It just doesn't get any better than this! Summary: 5 Stars
Great book. Lots of Laughs. Something to think about. Kids like it-we-adults-love it. We listen to it often and still end up laughing-and we are not ranchers or farmers. We even named a pup, Hank. Hank's histrionics definitely give us something to talk about-a common language and social/literary reference. John Erickson is a genius and Hank is a scream!
Book Review: Hank the Cowdog Summary: 4 Stars
Alisha really loved the book, but she didn't like the part when Hank ate the chicken. Herman liked the part when Hank ate the hen. Herman did not like it when Hank fell on the porcipine. Carlton was different from Herman he liked when Hank fell on the porcupine, but he didn't like it when Hank cried.
Book Review: Hank made our son a reader Summary: 5 Stars
Two teachers introduced this series to our son five years ago and he went from "not interested in reading" to avid reader overnight. He read every book in the series and has been an avid reader ever since. Now his little brother is following suit. We love Hank the Cowdog!
Book Review: Great use of puns. Good book for dog lover Summary: 3 Stars
Fun kids book that works well for adults, too. The humor is simple, but there is a LOT of it, plus a look into real ranch living (as seen from the dog's point of view, of course) You will fall in love with Hank, and his pals, IF you can stand the puns.
