Book Reviews of The Poker Face of Wall StreetBook Review: Game on---- Summary: 4 Stars
As a professional in the ETF business I highly recommend this book. Let's face it....Game theory is here to stay and Aaron's book details this very well. If you're planning on entering into the business of investments from Algorithms to Zeta Models....do yourself a favor and read this book... Aaron Brown's "The Poker Face of Wall Street" takes a dry subject matter and makes it fun and enjoyable. I'd like to see Aaron take on the boys from Susquehanna in a lil' five card. Game on-----
Book Review: Enlightening and Entertaining Summary: 5 Stars
I'm an investment professional with a casual interest in poker, but have never played at the level (stakes, skill) described by the authors. While I can't speak to the book's value to players seeking to improve their outcomes at the poker table, this book should nonetheless be of real interest to many on Wall Street and others who are interested in learning how the spheres of poker and investing overlap. It's well-written, a fun read and provides lots of fascinating anecdotes.
Book Review: Needs Editing Summary: 1 Stars
The author here is well-read, but not a self-editor. The book is confused: pages of poker hand values (this is news?), pages of rather uninteresting tales of past poker hands played, a few interesting views of what is wrong with mathematical rules for playing poker. Also, some very confused ruminations on the value of poker and gambling to economic development. Needs work.
Book Review: Fantastic! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was absolutely instrumental in helping me combine my porfolio with my card paying techniques.
Why it took so long for this book to come out - I'll never know! Simple, straightforward and to the point it offers great advice to win - from the best!
Book Review: Neither a good poker or business book Summary: 2 Stars
The book has some interesting stories and ideas but I didn't leave convinced of the connection between "investing" and poker. Maybe I had over inflated expectations, but this books title is a bit off-target.
