Book Review: Great Potty Book

I bought this book for my daughter along with Once Upon a Potty. I personally was more drawn in by the Once Upon a Potty title, but I actually think my daughter likes this one better. I started reading both to her shortly before I was getting ready to potty train. Ihink the books helped expose her to the idea of potty training, because she immediately caught on. I would tell her that she had to go on the Potty, like Hannah and Prudence. The books are very similar in the idea, but I think this one is a little more elementary, but in that way appeals more to small children for example with the rhyming. WE still read this book even though she got the hang of going potty to reinforce the message and I think it is helping.Book Review: Potty Pooper

I ordered this book from Amazon based on other reviews, but I must say that I found it lacking and had to buy another to supplement. Unlike some other potty books, this one doesn't cover wiping with toilet paper, washing your hands or flushing. I also prefer books that offer a chart for sticker rewards. On the positive side, it rhymes, I do like that it suggests the potty be given as a "present", and that the little girl gets to pick out her own underwear once she is ready, but I find the omissions too great to give the book a higher rating. Good luck potty training!

Book Review: Love the size and sturdy pages!!!

My daughter is only 15 months. I am a little ahead of schedule but I want to get her used to the potty and interested in it. I am tired of changing diapers!! lol! She really liked it and lets me read it to her. She liked all the colors and it held her attention really well. She can't relate to it just yet but I have no doubts she will enjoy the book as she gets older and can start understanding everything the book says. I also LOVED how the book was small enough for her to carry around and open but also that the pages weren't made of just paper. They are harder and since my daughter gets a little rough with books sometimes it proved to be perfect for us! Good book! Well, in the book little Hannah can brush her teeth all by herself...and so my daughter thinks that when you use the potty you also must brush your teeth as well. That is not cool.
I love the teeth brushing but not every time she uses they potty!!!! Can you imagine when she's 20 or 30 and still brushing her teeth after using the bathroom each time?? And the book makes no mention of washing your hands after going. So two stars for 'cute' story and giving some interest to my child, but deduct 3 stars for overall crappy (ha ha) story.
Book Review: pretty much potty trained my daughter for me!

I love this book and recommend it to anyone with a daughter! My daughter fell in love with it immediately and wanted us to read it to her over and over again. She had it memorized in about a week. I thought, well if she loves it this much, maybe I should get her a potty. She was only 17m, but I got one and she was immediately sitting on it. I thought, well what the heck, I'll take her pants down. And she went potty! It has been a little hit or miss, and at 22m we are working on consistency and getting rid of the diaper entirely! She still loves this book and we read it all the time!
