Book Review: What an AH-MAZING Book!
Summary: 5 Stars
This whole series is the best series I've ever read in my entire life!!!! If you havnt read the series, and are thinking how shallow the thousands of people who have read it are, because you think it's all about gossip, looks, and being mean...your wrong. In the first book, you think Massie Block,the infamous pretty committee "leader", which is a popular clique at there school, Octavian Country Day School, is mean and shallow. But as the series goes on, you realize she's less than perfect, and she has cravings for sugar, has bad hair days, gets stressed, and is a very nice and creative person. I have grown to feel for her and love her, and I can picture everything going on all the time, because Lisi Harrison casts such a vivid and descripctive setting and dialogue. She words eveything so perfectly, and the book flows effortlessly.
Heres a summary of each book..so far
1. The Clique- School is starting back up again, and Massie's father, William, has an old college buddy and his family move into their guesthouse, next to their several tennis courts, pools,a nd spacious home and lawn. At first the daughter who is the same age as Massie (12 years old), doesn't get along with Massie, and there chemistry doesn't mix. I mean, Massies decked out in Calvin Klein, Coach, and Prada, while Claire wears high-rise faded Gap jeans, and button down shirts, and year old Keds. Massie and her group, Kristin gregory, Dylan Marvil, and Alicia Rivera, do nasty things to her, and talk about her behind her back. Claire is depspretely trying to fit in, and in the end, massie maybe changes her mind about Claire. This book is the first. classic one and all who want to read this series to to start from the beginning.
2. Best friends fornever- Massie and her girls plan a boy-girl Halloween party for the first time ever. The only problem is, is the only way massie can have this party is if Claire is in it too. massie is alittle mad about this, but decides to deal with it. On Halloween, Massie and her girls wear "dirty devi" costumes, which consist of shredded tanks, short skirts, and Calvin boy shorts that say KISS IT on the butt. Claire, of course wore her powerpuff girl costume,cuz Massie "accidently" left hers behind. Mrs.Burns, their principal, is furious about their costumes, and is threataning OCD to go Uniformed. Massie decides to throw a uniform design contest, and she dicides to pair up with Claire..and hr girls. Except with Alicica Rivera.Ths spanish beauty decides to pair up with Olivia Ryan, A gorgeous blondie, who is a total air-head bimbo. troubles start to brew.. SPOILER Alicia and Olivia cheat and switch the ballot boxes to win! massie and TPC are ticked off...hmm. i wonder wat will happen
Very good book!
3. Revenge of the Wannabees Very appropiate title, i must say. neways, Alicia and Olivia get to go to the Teen Poeple office, since they won, and they get to model in the holiday issue. Massie overhears this, and prank calls the Teen Poeple manager, and says its Alicica and enters she , Claire (their getting along a bit better!) and the rest of the Pretty Committee! I dont want to give away the rest, but lets just say massie, TPC, and Alicica are in a huuuuge fight!! very dramamtic but fun to read, and its very well written! One of my favoruites!
4. Invasion of the boy snatchers- SPOLIER ALERT FROM PREVIOUS Alicia and TPC make up but Alicias hot cousin, Nina, from Spain comes, and is super hot! She steals Massies crush, derrick harrington, who Massie secretly calls "derrington" and clares BF cam fisher! What will massie and TPC do? Dont worry, Massie has some tricks up her sleevs!
5. The Pretty Committee Strikes Back- OCD goes on a 3 day field trip to Lake Placid, to learn about topography, orienterring, and surving in the outdoors, according to their history teacher. But to Massie and her girls, its a perfect time to wear "Placid-perfect" outifts, flirt with Briarwood academy boys, and goof off. Crushes rise, kisses emerge, drama begins. MUCH DRAMA! theres good make-outs, sneaking out/in, misbehaving, wardrobe now-functions, and MUCHHHHH drama at the end. The ending is a total cliff-hanger and it leaves you waiting for the 23rd of August to tell us wats going to happen if you want to know the end scroll down! SPOLIER OF and TPC (claire is a part of it now) are expelled from OCD from running away in the woods, first to catch dylan runing after she sees her mom and her history teacher kissing, then everyone follows her and they get lost.! They are expelled!!! Its a real cliff hanger for whats going to happen!
