Book Reviews of The Read-Aloud Handbook: Sixth EditionBook Review: Read Aloud Handbook Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great gift for a baby shower. It encourages parents to read to kids from birth and tells them why it is important. It then gives book titles for every age and summaries of each book. I read to all 3 of my sons until they were seniors in high school. They all have doctoral degrees or are working on them. They attribute their success to a love of reading!
Book Review: Another wonderful resource from Jim Trelease Summary: 5 Stars
This newest edition of The Read-Aloud Handbook is every bit as well- written and chock-full of helpful information as its predecessors. Aside from the many great book reviews, it provides excellent reasoning and support for the practice of reading aloud to students -- all students. All English/reading teachers need to keep a copy handy.
Book Review: A MUST for parents!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned this book for less than a week and I already want to buy it for every new parent I know! This book gives excellent reviews on good children's literature. If you're a parent or grandparent or you care about children and early literacy, then buy this book or check it out at your local library. You will NOT be disappointed!
Book Review: Must-have for parents Summary: 5 Stars
Every teacher and especially every parent should own this book. It tells why reading often and exposing children to lots of books bolsters their education in no uncertain terms and gives the statistical proof to back it up. Plus, it gives suggestions for great read-aloud books. Read early, read often, keep reading. Great book!
Book Review: Important Home and Classroom Education Summary: 5 Stars
Who doesn't like to be read to? This book solidifies the feeling that reading to children builds their vocabulary, their desire to read and more over their ability to read fluently. It's all about modeling.
A quick read, backed by research and testimony. Read this, put the theory into action and change a life!
