Book Review: Good but Disappointed

I like this book, but I don't like this book as well. Keller really wanted to answer many of the questions that individuals have inside and outside the faith (I would say primarily outside). He does a good job at answer the questions, but it seems more like an apologetic response that doesn't actually fully answer the question. If I can respond and answer every question that someone ever posed but didn't fully explain the need for the gospel and share the gospel then I have not helped in any way. Keller does preach the gospel and makes it clear in many chapters, but the book many of times seems to appeal more to a secular answer to bring people to faith in Christ. If we are to want people to come to Christ it will not happen by simply answering questions without explaining their need for a Savior. I like Keller and many of his answers, but I was expecting more from him and in what the end goal behind answering these questions would be.
Being a man of faith, follower of Christ, and reading this book I was expecting a greater appeal to the need for Jesus Christ crucified for the remedy of our spiritual needs (which are the greatest because our souls live for eternity). I understand Keller wanting to answer from a logical and reason stand point, but I don't believe an individual will believe in Jesus Christ and come to faith based on human reason and logical (1 Corinthians 2:14), but even with this I do believe this book is helpful and worth reading...just not my first recommendation.
