Jeff Shaara really likes the gory political details behind the scenes of the major battles he describes. Sometimes I had to slog through what seemed to be really dull to me. There was enough action to keep me interested, and Shaara does a good job giving both the big picture and the details on the ground.Book Review: Excellent Read

This author presents an excellant overview of a selective portion of the action in WWII (Africa and Sicily). At the same time he expresses the thoughts of the common soldier as well commanders of both the axis and allies. Yes, I bought all three books on WW2 by Jeff and consumed them quickly. Great way to get factual history and be entertained at the same time. Highly recommended. See his works on WW1 and the American Civil War.Book Review: Very good read!
