Book Review: A whole new interest for nature lovers!

This is a great book and CD! I have already identified the sounds of 6-new to me- crickets and katydids I hear around my home, and I've just gotten started! The pictures are beautiful. I love counting the different sounds I hear, both day and night, and being able to find out what is singing these late summer and fall choruses. It gives a whole new field of interest for nature lovers.Book Review: Well worth the price.

I woke up one morning to an interview on NPR with the authors just as this book was released. It was fascinating to hear what they went through to create this book, causing my usual snooze to be replaced by instant attention. The book is as interesting as the authors were in the interview and is a must have. The photos and audio clips are amazing in clarity.Book Review: Definitely a winner!

I heard about this book on NPR one day in late May, and ordered it for my daughter's birthday the very next day. She couldn't be happier with it and says the book is excellent, the photos are exquisite, and the CD of insect songs is fantastic. This book and included CD was the answer for learning all the insect sounds on my field recordings and nocturnal adventures. Good pictures for seeing what you heard really looks like, as well as good descriptions with the general range of each species noted. understand and enjoy. Photography is amazing.
CD sound track also amazing, some of them I had never heard their
songs before.
