Book Reviews of The South Beach Diet CookbookBook Review: South Beach Diet-Wonderful! Summary: 4 Stars
Are you sick of dieting? Well the South Beach diet has started to become a "lifestyle change" for my family, instead of a "diet".
This cookbook has EXCELLENT recipes that are easy to follow, but make you feel like you are eating food from a gourmet chef at a really nice restaurant!
The South Beach Diet Cookbook: More than 200 Delicious Recipes That Fit the Nation's Top Diet
Book Review: Good recipes but you have to find them Summary: 3 Stars
I have to say that this book has some good recipes although they are hidden among a lot of difficult and not so flavorfull foods. Most of the time I find myself modifying the recipes so that they will turn out better. However I really think the desserts are beyond help. I have tried 4 of them and they have all been duds. The book is a decent investment if you have the time to sort through the recipes and you have a family that is willing to experiment with sometimes not so good dishes.
Book Review: South Beach Diet works miracles! Summary: 5 Stars
I went on the South Beach Diet in November 2005. In one year I went from weighing 280 lbs to weighing 215! My cholesterol went from 221 to 141,and my blood pressure went from 150/100 to 117/77 (with NO drugs). Also I lost 6 inches around my waist. It went from 42 inches to 36.As of May 2008, I currently weigh 212 (at 5' 11') and am trying to work my way to 195 now.I own all of the books and am one of the biggest advocates of the diet. I would recommend this book to anyone!
Book Review: I've lost about 5 pounds. Summary: 5 Stars
Total determination is needed to lose weight and I've always thought the formula to be relatively simple: eat less calories and burn more through exercise. However, it is very difficult to do so. So I turned to South Beach diet. I've found this to be a very practical diet. After the initial first two weeks (the strictest) I've lost about 5 pounds. But, I've done no exercise whatsoever and have eating quite a bit which accounts for the lower than the average weight loss.
Book Review: Great recipes for a life style change Summary: 5 Stars
We love to eat in my family, but need to eat healthier. My physician suggested South Beach, and since I have to have a recipe to cook by, I bought this book. It has quickly become one of my favorites, and has yet to make it to my bookshelf, it stays on the counter, in use.
If you are doing a no-carb diet, this is not the book for you. If you want to eat the "good" carbs and stay away from the "bad" carbs, and generally eat healthier, then this book will help.
