Summary of The Sports Medicine Patient Advisor

In an ideal setting, the patient would present to his or her provider after the initial injury or complaint and would receive the appropriate diagnosis. The patient would then be seen by a physical therapist or trainer and instructed in the proper rehabilitation exercises to aid in recovery and return to physical activity because of limitations in resources it is often not feasible for our patients to see physical therapists or trainers.

The information contained in this book will utilize rehabilitation aids that can be found anywhere -weights in a high school gym or in a person's home, resistance bands that can be dispensed from a physician's office, or even soup cans that can be found in a patient's kitchen cabinet.
