Book Reviews of The Transformation Game

Book Review: Wonderful!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I played this game with three other people - it took quite a few hours, but I was fascinated by it. The game is easy to set up (despite what I read in other reviews), but I did read directions carefully. I think it would be wonderful to play with a partner, as a lot of personal values can be seen and possibly discussed. There is a level of "fun" and a level of mysticism. I enjoyed the balance.

As the game does take a long time, I do recommend a couple of things - as you progress through the four levels, take time between each level to reflect and write down what you have done on that level. At the end and before progressing to the next level, you can give away your Insight cards that are extra - it's interesting which ones you give and to whom. I think there are so many levels to this game and it's important to really pause to "get it".

The second suggestion is to get your own game piece - the ones included all looked the same. I used crystals, small, and different for each person. I let them choose and will use these instead of the supplied ones. This is such a small suggestion, and skipping it does not take away from the game in any way.

Playing with 3 others, it was interesting which ones took it to heart and which ones played it like a regular "game" - this may have more to do with our relationship than the actual game, but that is also good information to get.

I just purchased a second game and sent it to my sister and her family for a gift - I can offer the tool and leave it for them to figure out. This may be the highest recommendation - as it is a game that I will keep on playing. After playing, I did some more research and came across the website for the game, which I strongly recommend to further your knowledge.

Book Review: Great game to play with close friends
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great game to play with close friends that are into their growth and self-development. I say close friends because the game can bring up quite personal stuff and it can be uncomfortable to be that "naked" amongst strangers (been there, done that, wasn't fun). You also need to play it with people that are willing to set a side a few hours to play with their personal growth: the game can be a little long winded in the beginning and some people get impatient. However, provided you are playing it with the right people, this is a real workshop in a box and excellent as tool to delve into areas of one's life that are not quite working: it seems to be excellent at pinpointing areas of denial and uncomfortable little issues that one has been sweeping under the carpet. Hence why you need to play this with close and trusted friends.

How it works. Each person picks an area that they want to work with and set their intention for the game. After which each player is assigned cards (angel cards, insight cards and set back cards)and a place holder. Then each player travels on the board and gets to uncover some of their cards and/or go through processes/steps as prompted. There is A LOT of synchronicity going on with this: the promptings, cards and processes often hit home, mirroring exactly one's inner process. The idea is that by the end of the game, one has a much clearer idea of the area of life that they are working on and a much better insight into what is causing the issues. As I said, a workshop in a box.

Excellent way of working on oneself: you can even play it on your own, in fact sometimes a quick tour around the board on one's own can be very effective. A great and fun tool for personal growth!

Book Review: Self-Growth was never so much fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got my first game of transformation over a dozen years ago. I use it today, and buy it as gifts for friends! From the designers of "Angel" cards this game is designed to help you explore any question or topic of your choice.
You pick a central focus and line your subconscious envelope with cards from various decks in the game (the number depends on your roll of the die) Then you pick an angel to oversee that particular focus and roll to be "born" onto your life path. Once there you land on a variety of squares, each one comes with an easy to understand instruction card.
Just as in life, sometimes you receive help from inspired sources (angels). Sometimes you have insights which give you awareness. When you have set-backs that cause pain, you use awareness to step out of that. You serve others. You are given the opportunity to listen to your intuition. You appreciate those around you. You transform for strange and unknown reasons. You receive feedback from the Universe around you. And just like life, most things filter through the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual planes.
That, in a nutshell, is what you do in this game. The amazing thing is that you are doing it with friends and you can make it light and fun or deeply moving and transformative.
This game has been a significant tool for me, and a delightful way to change and grow.

Book Review: Innovation in noncompetitiveness
Summary: 5 Stars

Finally a board game, that is not based on owerpowering/winning over/undercutting others. The whole game is based on generating more connection between players, on all levels of depth. Spiritual (some could say New Age-y or Buddhist) in setup, the game leads each player through being born, and existence in the physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual realms until the player (the first one or each) blasts out through the final transformation. All this happens not before everyone needs to answer questions, act under certain circumstances, make decisions and express support towards others participating. The game includes hundreds of cards accompanying the movements on the board and describing what needs to be done at each step. I really liked how the game also helped to integrate the different world-view and the newly learned insights into my life by encouraging to write them down or follow them up after the game. Both good and bad events in life are handled with a nonjudgmental atmosphere encouraging equanimity in life and in our choices, overseen and supported by angels of different quality from the included angel card deck.

Book Review: A customer
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this game a month ago after hearing about it from a friend and have nothing but praise for the women that created it. I have played it both alone and with others and it never fails to show me the awareness, setbacks and insights for any focus that I may have. It is especially valuable being able to play with others for the wealth of interaction that happens with it. Just as with the experience of life itself, there can be pain, setbacks and depression but there is also blessings, miracles, enlightenment from angels and the other players as well as the opportunity for transformation. Every player's game is unique to them, there are no winners or losers. I make a point of recording all the results of my games to look back upon and will find that a lot of the same messages are being shown to me even by having different focuses. It is those repeated messages that I really need to focus on. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is willing to understand themselves for growth and self healing, as playing it will provide them with a very enlightening experience.
