Book Reviews of The Twelfth Card (A Lincoln Rhyme Novel)Book Review: What happened with this one Summary: 2 Stars
I love Jeffery Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series but this one just fell way short of his previous books. It did not hold my interest very well at all. I found myself skipping ahead just so I could get to the end and start another book. The "ghetto" talk was ridiculous (sp), too over the top and that was really annoying. I have not read the next one yet but am hoping it's just as good as all the others minus this one.
Book Review: What a delicious story! Summary: 5 Stars
I simply love the Lincoln Rhyme novels and this one was particularly enjoyable. Solving murder of course, but an historic 140 year old mystery needs solving as well. This one is loaded with history that you're bound to enjoy. The little heroine of the piece is a 16 year old young black girl who excells in school and is actually living on her own. She's a delight as is this wonderful story.
Book Review: Tying up lose ends Summary: 3 Stars
I wasn't as impressed with this one as with the other Rhyme Novesl. I just kept on and on and on. It was interesting getting some Civil War history and a bit on Harlem thru the great-great-great, etc and the father of Geneva.
Book Review: Superb!! Summary: 5 Stars
This was my first Jeffery Deaver and I was mighty impressed. He included little details throughout the book that kept it from having slow points or lulls. Super secondary characters. Well worth reading more than once.
Book Review: roller coaster ride Summary: 4 Stars
I would wake up in the middle of the night trying to figure this one out and even in the end after it is clear who done it you are wrong. What a roller coaster ride...great book!
