Book Reviews of The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for WomenBook Review: The book Tristan calls "Chicken Soup for Your Ass"! Summary: 4 Stars
Taormino's information is sound and medically accurate, her advice is sensible, her style is friendly and chatty, and the illustrations by Fish are a joy. My only caveat is that her obvious enthusiasm for her topic is so great that it might prove more than somewhat overwhelming for anyone who is very nervous or unsure about anal exploration, or who has had bad or traumatic experiences in the past. In these cases, I'd recommend Jack Morin's "Anal Pleasure and Health" instead, which deals in much greater details with relaxation techniques and emotional inhibitions, and which is more willing to acknowledge that anal sex may not be everyone's cup of tea. But if you're already rarin' to go, then this is a good place to start.
Book Review: Do not close the iron door on this book! Summary: 4 Stars
Needless to say, there aren't many books that approach this touchy subject, so imagine my surprise when I saw this book online. I purchased it immediately and took it home to my girlfriend Olga. When I first showed it to her she said, "Reeeeeelax, there's no way I am trying this." But I told her that "you'd be amazed" at how many women actually enjoy this. I told her that if it's done right, it can be very pleasurable. She told me her previous experiences hadn't been all that enjoyable, as the man she was with tried the "shocker" approach. I told her to not deny me her essence and to give it a try. Well, she did, and since then we have not closed the iron door on this most taboo type of love-making.
Book Review: Average Book at Best Summary: 3 Stars
If you have never had sex, this book might be helpful. If you have had sex and are conscientious of your partner's needs, this book will shed little light. The book could have been written in two statements: (1) Use LOTS of lubrication and (2) go slowly. If you are not a conscientious sex partner, then you will ignore the advice anyway; so don't bother. This book has value if you are trying to drop a hint to your woman and want to leave it on your coffee table or someplace to spur discussion...or you could just communicate with her directly. Other than that this information is all common knowledge and widely available on the Internet.
Book Review: Explore This Taboo Subject, It's Too Good To Ignore. Summary: 5 Stars
I am a lesbian, when my partner bought this, I thought it was a sick joke. But she introduced the topics and methods in this book slowly and lovingly to our love making. It is now an integral part of our expression of appreation of one another. How could this book be of value to a lesbian couple? A strap on, some k-y jelly, and some love are an amazing combination. Let your mind and body be set free. Lesbian, straight, doesn't matter. Get this book and open up a new door, a back door. The most important thing is a partner that cares about your well being, and is not just doing it for themselves.
Book Review: Comprehensive and complete, both sexy and informative. Summary: 5 Stars
My search began with a quest for information as to how to pursue the subject of anal sex safely and with enjoyment. Although my spirit was willing, my flesh was weak upon first experimentation. After reading Taormino's manual, I have a new comfort level, both physically and mentally. Now I know that I was attempting too much, too soon. I learned that, physiologically, the process must be very gradual in order to be accomplished successfully. Every question I had was completely covered, and I now proceed with confidence. Worth far more than it's price!
