Book Reviews of The Undercover EconomistBook Review: Climate Change Rant. Summary: 1 Stars
What a misleading title. Got part of the way through it and it just turned into a never ending climate change rant. Ideas were not supported or developed, just asserted over and over. It was like talking to a religious fanatic.
I couldn't endure it, it was like a form of torture. Maybe they hand that book out to inmates at Guantanamo Bay
Book Review: Econ 101 Deja Vu Summary: 3 Stars
Not as incisive as all the reviewers seemed to think....that is all those folks in New York and Washington. A nice review of how principles of economics work out in the marketplace. A bit thin on decisions made by individuals. Still, a useful primer for the person who never thought about economics before.
Book Review: not terrible... Summary: 3 Stars
decent coverage of scarcity theory, and slight coverage of comparative advantage, but not much ground-braking information here. Its not as good as Freakonomics, which I also disliked. I'm still looking for a book on classical economic theory that I can tolerate... any suggestions are highly welcome!
Book Review: Amazing Book! Summary: 5 Stars
I have to agree with Steven Levitt, the author of Freakonomics that The Undercover Economist should be required reading for all Americans. Tim Harford clearly elucidates the most important economic principles we face daily in our lives. Highly recommended.
Book Review: Should have stayed undercover! Summary: 2 Stars
I forced myself to read it after it was highly reccomended to me. It was a bit all over the place, had no "glue" and was overall boring. I still can't figure out why it's titled "Undercover" since nothing was revealed.
