Book Reviews of The Virus: Rebelling Against a Programmed Society

Book Review: Another Great Work
Summary: 5 Stars

Thorin's latest masterpiece carries the same great themes and timely messages as his last books. As our society seems to be circling the drain, many people can't help but point fingers and blame everyone and everything but themselves. In his works, Thorin takes that finger, breaks it, and redirects it toward it's rightful recipient. It's about time someone has the balls to tell people what they need to hear: that each person is responsible for their own lot in life. Too many people look at the rich and priveledged and say how lucky they are. I'm sure Thorin would agree with Thomas Jefferson who said "I'm a great believer in luck. I find that the harder i work, the luckier i get." What makes Thorin's writing so great is the many levels he writes on. At an initial glance his writing seem to be such common sense. It's just a shame that common sense isnt so common. Most people seem to have been rocked asleep by the grand hand of a socialist dream. I've heard it said that socialism is a great idea, just the wrong species. Human nature dictates that most people seek the path of least resistance and avoid the hard work. Well it's hard work which makes great things happen. Thorin lifts the socialist vail that blinds us to the truth. That truth he shows us is that each person is responsible for our own success (or failure for that matter). In Virus, Thorin shows us just how ignorant we are when it comes to our puppeteers. He does however, give us hope. By showing us how to recognize who controls us and by what means they do so. Just by seeing this is a big step in the right direction in the journey to reclaim your life back and to live it by the only means you should... under your OWN direction. Although his writing style is blunt and to the point, without too much thought to grammer, does not mean there is a lack of intelligence by any means. If you allow yourself to be absorbed in his book and approach it with an open mind, the intelligence with which it is written is almost palpable. If Thorin were to teach at a university there is no doubt his classes would be full. It's great to hear such intellect not from book smarts, but from the heart. I highly reccomend this book to anyone and everyone. There is something for all, from the sheep wanting to break the chains of their repressing shepards to the strong minded, strong willed wolf always looking to improve.

Summary of The Virus: Rebelling Against a Programmed Society

Every person has been programmed to some degree. The Virus (Thorin s fourth book) is the cure for that condition. In The Virus, Thorin exposes the tricks and tactics that external forces (salesmen, religious leaders, social forces, authoritarians, product pushing corporations...) use to condition behavior. The Virus successfully straddles both psychology and sociology as it delivers the goods in Thoirn's trademark "intellectual rebellion" style. The Virus is a book which exposes (in an easy to read, yet witty and entertaining style) the way in which members of society are persuaded, conditioned, and manipulated. Many people think that they are capable of picking up on these ever-present persuasions and subtleties, but as they finish The Virus, many will look back in astonishment that their beforehand knowledge was simply the tip of the iceberg.

Although this ingenious book could be reverse-engineered by business owners, P.R. firms, and media spinsters, the true intent of this book is to enlighten its readers of "the translucent strings which model and direct behavior, persuade purchasing habits, condition thought patterns, and manipulate the mass into submissive servants". The tricks are all exposed and all the curtains are fully pulled back. The psychological wizardry is broken down, and as the virus unfolds, the snake oil salesmen are exposed. Are you ready to step free from your mental shackles? If so, then you are ready to read this book; you are ready to unleash The Virus and stop the external programming and manipulation of your own mind.
