Book Reviews of The Wednesday LettersBook Review: Don't bother Summary: 2 Stars
I would definitely not recommend this book. Very easy read-I read it in about 2.5 hours. This book seems more like a marketing ploy than a novel . It is poorly written and I believe is the type of book to appeal to people who rarely if ever read books. I didn't know about the christian agenda that the author had previously to purchasing it, but if the book was well written, it would not have bothered me.
If you are looking for a very light read, then check it out from the library, but don't expect much.
Book Review: A story of love and forgiveness Summary: 5 Stars
This is a story about families, forgiveness, and love. When the owners of a successful bed and breakfast in Virginia die, their three grown children find a previously unknown large cache of letters written from their father to their mother each and every Wednesday throughout their marriage. Through reading the letters, old secrets were revealed about family and friends. The love and healing of this family are subsequently passed on to and through their children. A lovely and satisfying read.
Book Review: Deep maze Summary: 5 Stars
This is NOT a little book of a bunch of letters. This IS a little book with a throbbing maze of stories. Every time you think you have your finger on the pulse of truth - the story leaps sideways and you sit astounded. Right to the end you wait - and it bobs again. This is a wonderful read that encompasses the heartbeat of an entire town due to the death of two people. The writer is a gift, his work a masterpiece of thought. You will deprive yourself of enlightenment if you don't read.
Book Review: One of the most disappointing books ever Summary: 1 Stars
I didn't have very high expectations to begin with; I just needed a book for vacation. This was a doozy though. The characters were almost completely undeveloped - it felt as though it was written by [...] trying to fill up enough pages for a book. The names of the characters were so stupid it was hard to read - A&P, nick named after the supermarket but with no explanation why. I left my copy on the plane and feel sorry for the next person who reads it. A truly mind-numbing experience.
Book Review: Disappointing Summary: 3 Stars
BOught this book while traveling. Was instantly captivated and hooked by the first 2 pages. However, I will say that I was disappointed in the last third of the book. I felt the plot line was just dropped - seemed as if the author had tired of it. The premise was so beautiful and poignant and every facet was coming along so beautifully, but it just went sour for me at the end. It also just got a little too "preach-y" for me with the religious faith stuff.
