Book Reviews of The Wheel of DarknessBook Review: Best Preston/Child novel since Cabinet of Curiosities Summary: 5 Stars
I have read most of this duo's books (and all of the Pendergast novels with the exception of Cemetary Dance), and this was definitely one of the best - page turning suspense, interesting story line and cool plot. If you're a Pendergast fan, you'll love this book - you also will get a chance to get to know Constance a little better!
Book Review: Disappointing Summary: 3 Stars
This book reminded me a little of "The Ice Limit" which is a fascinating read. Unfortunately it fell flat. Three quarters of the way through, it picked up, enough so that I did not even hear the conductor on the train asking for my ticket. Still not enough for me to rate it as high as prior books.
Book Review: Pendergast is awesome Summary: 5 Stars
He is one of the best fictional heroes I've come across. cold, calculating and brutally brilliant!!
The story moves beautifully from the east to the west with a good mix of fantasy, religion, supernatural, and down to earth rotten villains. You'll love it if you are into the bizarre.
Book Review: Don't bother! Summary: 1 Stars
The best word I can think of to describe this book is LAME! I'm a big fan of Preston and Childs' previous works, but this one was a stinker. The other negative reviews mirror my sentiments exactly. Don't waste your time with this one, you'll end up disappointed.
Book Review: Wheel of Darkness - The End of Pendergast? Summary: 5 Stars
This was another excellent Pendergast mystery novel, but I almost lost hope for him during the reading of this novel. It had the requisite twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. You will not regret picking it up for a good read.
