Book Reviews of Theory and Practice of Counseling and PsychotherapyBook Review: Reverse Psychology Summary: 5 Stars
Hi, all you really can say about a good book for learning and sharing with an entire family 'is you can not buy a better book for the home library! Their is nothing better than a book that can be used for years, and with this one you must be able to understand where the writer is going with new perspectives on the ways people can reverse the ways that they think or do things daily. Then compare that to whatever life form that would better fit their life styles. Such as emotions, learning new things, teaching my child which way that is right for him/her at this point in life. Should I try teaching counseling effects to a child or try psychotherapy and practice this as they grow up? Could this be a new diagnosis in assessment yet to come? Or is the American Psychiatric Association's finally learning that this is already the ways of and every day family; And decided to use it to take counseling and build on making more money in the community by having counselors to get more education to become what they are already:Counseling Practitioners? Either way it's a go.

Summary of Theory and Practice of Counseling and PsychotherapyDevelop your own counseling style using Corey's bestselling THEORY AND PRACTICE OF COUNSELING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY. You will see the major theories of counseling (psychoanalytic, Adlerian, existential, person-centered, Gestalt, reality, behavior, cognitive-behavior, family systems, feminist and, and postmodern approaches) as they are used in practice through a case study focused on one client, "Stan." The case of "Stan" appears in each chapter so you can see how the theory presented in that chapter informs therapeutic decision-making. "At a Glance" charts pinpoint the major differences between theories in areas such as multicultural focus, basic philosophies, and limitations. About This Edition From the Publisher New Features - An online and DVD program, "Theory in Practice: Counseling Stan," shows how the author works with Stan from each of the theoretical approaches covered in the book.
