Book Reviews of Thirteen MoonsBook Review: Alternate reality Summary: 5 Stars
Thirteen Moons gave me what I want from good fiction; the chance to sink into another reality. Charles Frazier so aptly depicts another time with geographic details and vivid and complex characters. It is effortless to enter the world he has created on paper. His poetic phrases and the depth of his character, Will, stroke the mind. I actually enjoyed it more than Cold Mountain, and appreciated the somewhat lighter tone. The story ebbs and flows just like real life. It is beautiful writing of a fulfilling story.
Book Review: A journey through one man's life. Summary: 3 Stars
This is a slow, warm, story about all the trials and tribulations one man has seen in his life. It's flows like a shallow stream on a warm sunny day. A relaxing, easy going pace that invites you to see the world as it once was according to one man. An enjoyable read for anyone wanting to get away from the modern real world for a while.
Book Review: Dreadful! Summary: 1 Stars
One really wonders just what happened here. Although the first 1/4 of this book is tolerable--if farfetched--the remainder is simply bizarre. It is rare for me not to finish a book but this was ridiculous! What a waste of time. Did enjoy Cold Mountain, tho.
Book Review: TRY AUDIO VERSION; FANTASTIC! Summary: 5 Stars
I listened to the audio version. Character actor, Will Patton, narrated. His Charleston accent was just superb! It was the BEST audio book I have ever listened to. I researched the character this book sounds as if it was based on, what a character!
