Book Reviews of Tranceformers: Shamans of the 21st CenturyBook Review: Get ready for that great leap into infinity, because we are just about there! Summary: 5 Stars
There were many reasons that I was attracted to this book Tranceformers: Shamans of the 21st Century by John Jay Harper: 1) The subject of shamanism, which I'm presently studying; 2) His interpretation of the anticipated shift in consciousness as we approach the Mayan End-Date Calendar on December 21st, 2012; and 3) Even the title itself--so ripe with implications. For as Harper suggests, those who are capable of keeping one foot in this dimension while inserting the other foot into the "fifth dimension" that is light itself, are the "reality transformers" of climate, culture, and civilization. He concludes that transforming the world we live in is an intentional process. More so, the Shamans of the 21st Century--those willing to step into the transformer role--will create that future reality for the rest of us.
Indeed one of the most important ideas for rumination is John Jay Harper's transformational concept that the new world creation is a choice we make whether we understand the indigenous cosmologies, mythologies and native ritualistic practices--or not. All who exist at this time and in this spatial awareness are the transitional players for the pending phase-shift within our global field-of-consciousness. Therefore, what we choose to experience is what the shift will be. The overall point is that a shaman is a reality transformer--and so are you. So for John Jay Harper to use the term "Tranceformers" in his book title is to state his major intention for this book's contents. He is in effect saying, "Step into your natural power. You have the ability to change this world for the better. It is your choice."
Harper's book is a fascinating compilation of numerous scientific studies on the nature of reality. He reviews many popular theories on human capabilities and potential, and also offers the reader a panoply of personal spiritual revelations on alternative states of consciousness. This allows one to share his insight into what exists beyond the limited frame of normal perception we myopically call "reality." All the while he conclusively states: Reality is what you make it!
It is within this fifth-dimensional luminous field of light that "pure potential" awaits direction by the viewer. It is there that our self-created "reality" can be changed: where illness can be eliminated--where soul fragments can be retrieved--where karmic debts can be traced and removed--where the world can be literally transformed in the blink of one's third eye by those willing to face the unknown to make those necessary changes, and then return to tell others how it was done.
How does one embark on and survive such an epic journey into the unknown? Trance work takes you there to our place of origin and destiny. So to understand the trance-state is to comprehend a place of infinite possibility--a dreamland constantly in the creation stage--a mystical world shifting and changing. Yet here is the key: You can go there with specific intentions, such as in a state of trance, connecting into a much deeper part of Our Great Self that is the Source of all dream fodder.
Deep meditation is a form of trance--a vehicle used to reach that level of infinite possibility--as is hypnotism. The difference between them is in depth of trance. Shamans use guided meditations or what they call "soul journeys," to sink deeper and deeper into these multidimensional potential realities--where spirits can interact and uniquely educate us in ways we find hard to imagine. When you study shamanism, you will soon realize that the reality we all presently live is little more than the operational instructions previously programmed into our subconscious mind that our conscious mind believes to be true--and follows to the letter.
If you learn how to reprogram your subconscious patterns to regain your health, or to create new opportunities in your life, or to simply give yourself permission to believe something other than what you've always believed to be true, you will soon experience a different reality. And all you will have done to create that new reality for yourself is to go into the "pure potential" program of your Unlimited Self, and change it to reflect the reality you choose.
That's all you do in a hypnotic trance: release the old beliefs and behavioral patterns and reprogram your new life behaviors, feelings, ideas to match what you want your experience to be today. Reality is little more than defined trance-work. Shamans have mastered these techniques to restore the health of themselves and tribal people for thousands of years. They have transformed the reality they witnessed into the world they desired to experience through reprogramming the "pure potential" energies co-existing within the living luminous zero-point field of consciousness.
In summary, John Jay Harper is telling us that if we are willing to step into our power, WE will be the "Shamans of the 21st Century." We can be the "Tranceformers of this reality."

Summary of Tranceformers: Shamans of the 21st CenturyTranceformers: Shamans of the 21st Century is the true story of this author's contact with a "dead" physicist colleague, and the telepathic communication that forced him to seek scientific answers to spiritual questions such as these classics: Who are we? Why are we here? Where are we going? For more than a decade, Harper embarked on a spiritual quest of careful reflection and methodical research in "abnormal physics and paranormal psychology," as he says. This headstrong but heartfelt effort would plunge Harper into the depths of despair and then lift him up to the heights of ecstasy over and over again as he produced an inspired synthesis of great ideas of all ages from cream-of-the-crop scientists and spiritualists. In this unique book, Harper offers comfort far from the simplistic optimism of New Age writers through a deep sense of "knowing," and that becomes obvious in the preface itself; yet his truth rings true from the first page to the last one. He never loses sight of his objective either, explaining how the mystical experience of every culture is an initiation into the fifth dimension of the shaman's consciousness. Throughout, Harper summons an astounding array of facts that lend credence to his seminal vision for the rediscovered myths of long-gone but not forgotten civilizations such as the Mayans and Egyptians, and the schools of thought espoused by so-called Freemasons. In short, he has built on a solid academic foundation that spans many disciplines: anthropology, archaeology, astronomy, astrology, physics, psychology, biology, history, mathematics, and medicine to name but a few. Moreover, this is an easy-to-read, intelligent, honest book not to be overlooked as Harper spews scientific theory and salutes spiritual teachings equally. He sees no contradiction between these two models of reality anymore. There is an irrepressible faith here and a rare chance to find solace in a time-of-trouble by reviewing the insights gleaned from Harper's communion with the "realm of the dead" and God. In summary, if you think, you are; and if you are, you will profit from thinking about Harper's visions of future world events that he outlines clearly to prepare us all for the Second Coming of Christ Consciousness in era-2012.
