Book Reviews of Tripwire (Jack Reacher, No. 3)

Book Review: tripwire
Summary: 4 Stars

Have no problem with the book(s), however am somewhat dissatisfied with winding up with two copies of this title. Admittedly, I somehow selected 2 rather than 1 of "Tripwire", but noticed the mistake and changed it back to 1. However I did not notice it had not been changed to 1 at checkout. The result was getting two copies, and then being informed that since it was my error I would have to pay the postage to return the book which I decided not to do because the postage was half the price of the book.

Book Review: Evil Doers and Military Cover-ups
Summary: 4 Stars

In, Tripwire, a tale of intrigue complicated by a military cover-up, Lee Child pulls the reader along with enough suspense to keep the pages turning, and the trip is enjoyable. However, the book drags in a few places, which could be fixed by tighter writing. Additionally, the hero, Jack Reacher, steps out of character now and then, as do some of the other characters, but all in all, it's a good read.

Bob Avey, author of The Detective Elliot series

Book Review: Justice delivered
Summary: 4 Stars

Reacher is a man of many weaknesses and a societal misfit. He apparently excels at only one thing, dispensing justice, and he does it with a fury and violence the bad guys deserve. This is the third in the Reacher series and I am reading them in order. I believe I enjoyed this book about the same as the first two. If you want to "escape" reality for a while and get absorbed in a thrilling adventure, start reading the Reacher series. Well written and lots of fun.

Book Review: This is the last one I read from Child
Summary: 1 Stars

Long and boring just like most of his novels. Once again he ran out of ideas before he ran out of ink. Also, thanks for stereotyping Texans again you arrogant, ignorant Brit. Child knows nothing about the military or Texans but that doesn't stop him from writing about either. I can sum up by suggesting there are much better authors out there folks.

(I guess I did make the same mistake again afterall. I guess hope springs eternal.)

Book Review: Early and implausible
Summary: 1 Stars

Besides the many implausible events, stopping a bullet with iron hard pecs, buying a plane ticket sans id, for cash and getting all sorts of info from Army files tout suite, etc., there are major factual errors - a confusion of viet cong with montagnards and the absolute total incorrectness of how body identifications are made at the Army Central Identification Lab, Hawaii being the most egregious.
