Book Review: A little TOO MUCH INFORMATION

My daughter just turned 11 and I had got her the book by Lauren Myracle "Eleven", she loved it and couldn't wait to read 12. Just looking at the cover it looked innocent enough and my daughter loves to read so she actually rented 12 from the library. She actually came up to me and said maybe she shouldn't be reading this book. She did read the whole thing but pointed out a few chapters for me, it is a cute book that continues from book Eleven of Winnie a girl who writes about each month of her life starting with her 11th birthday. I think this book Twelve is a little explicit, Ok the part about her getting her period is fine and explains about pads and tampons and is actually pretty funny, but then it starts to go on not very detailed but about hard ons and erections. And it does I think only once mention about sex but it does seem to act like its rather casually. I can tell you my daughter learned quite a bit. I don't think I would have used the word hard on when discussing about a boy having an erection. I would definitely check the book Thirteen over real good before letting her read it. Overall I don't think the book is horrible but I would definitely not give it to my 9 year old and I don't think I would give it to a 10 year old either. I think 6th grade is the earliest I would let read the book.
