Book Reviews of Undead and Unwelcome (Queen Betsy, Book 8)Book Review: Please just end this series. Summary: 1 Stars
It seems even MaryJanice Davidson's diehard fans are giving up.
After eight books there has to be more to a series than juvenile, cutesy dialogue and stereotyped characters. Unfortunately, in this case, there isn't.
I am an adult now. I do not want pages of adolescent dialogue dotted with pornographic sex. I need more than that.
That's why I read Charlaine Harris.
Book Review: Same Old Schtick Summary: 3 Stars
This series is fizzling out. Each additional novel seems skimpier on plot, characterization, imagination, and fun. In this installment, Betsy, Queen of the Vampires, visits the werewolves to explain why one of them died in her presence. The editing and proofreading continue to be bad--rights instead of rites, knew instead of new, etc. I find this especially unforgivable in books this expensive.
Book Review: Huge disappointment! Summary: 1 Stars
I have loved most of the Betsy books up until this one. This reads more like a short story and not a novel. I feel like the author banged something out just to meet a deadline. She put no thought into the story at all. I was really hoping that we would get to see Betsy grow up and embrace her responsibilites instead of continuing to be a spoiled brat. I will not read anymore of MJDs books.
Book Review: Who did she pay to write this tripe? Summary: 1 Stars
From Undead and Unwed (Very amusing) to Undead and Unwelcome (BORING)! Maryjanice did not appear to have written this one...at least she should not have tried to take the credit (or the blame). Maybe she needs to retire the series and try for a new storyline and characters. I am very glad I did not buy this one (only borrowed). Don't waste your money or your time.
Book Review: Enough with the back story Summary: 1 Stars
If you've made it to the eighth book in a series, you pretty much know all the characters, or you should. I was really disappointed that more than half of this installment told us what we already knew. At this point in the series, the book should be heavy on new plot, with just a little backstory to remind us where we left off.
