Book Review: Caution-Amazon makes mistakes

American Map makes 2 sets with identical maps. One set is laminated and is labeled "was $34.95, now $19.95". The set that is not laminated is marked "was 19.95(maybe 13.95), now $6.95". I just saw these 2 variations at my local office supply store today. In researching the various brands, I found the American Map much easier to distinguish and read the names of countries. Other brands are too convoluted and are difficult to just pick out the countries and cities. I recently had an experience with Amazon with a laptop carrying case that was inaccurately listed on the website. In my diligent research, I noticed some discrepancies. After speaking with about 3 different reps and getting different answers, I insisted that they contact the warehouse and pull the product to see if it was the one I wanted so I didn't wind up incurring extra shipping charges for a return. My suspicions were correct; the website was wrong. I'm guessing Amazon probably has both sets of maps, but it may take an insistent phone call to figure out and to make sure you don't over pay for what you get. I hope this information helps you get the appropriate set of maps.
