Book Reviews of Up Close and Dangerous: A NovelBook Review: Enjoy the book! Summary: 4 Stars
I'd just finished this book and I like it very much. I've been hesitated to try it since I read the other reviews, but I'm happy I'd read it. I think the reason of other readers finding it disappointed is because the romance is little and the suvival skill is too much. However, I just like this setting. I found it more romantic in the way Cam & Bailey help each other and trying to know each other. I finished this book in two days (I usually take 2 weeks) and I don't think it's boring. Miss Howard is a great writer. I enjoy reading her books but can't find all of them 'cause I'm from HK. I've been buying her books through internet.
Book Review: Up Close and Dangerous - Loved it! Summary: 4 Stars
I loved this book! This is not the old Linda Howard - a wonderfully romantic love story. No sir-ee - this one is all ADVENTURE!!! Of course, there is still great romance thrown in - so don't you worry.
I enjoyed it so much, and read it non-stop until complete. I love that Linda Howard is branching out into so many different areas, making so many different types of stories. It would get so old if they were all the same.
I loved Bailey, loved Cam - loved their adventure. I give it 4.5 stars and highly recommend this one - as well as every other book LH has ever written!
Book Review: Up Close & Dangerous Summary: 4 Stars
Linda Howard's novel "Up Close & Dangerous" was one of her greatest stories. She told you a story of how hate and/or dislike turns to love and romace. In the story the main character Bailey is going on a vacation and her plan crashes. The emotions that follow is a show of how strong anyone can by when pushed into a serious survior mode. While reading it, i was able to feel the dislike, the cold mountain air, the need to survive, the attraction, the heat and the anger that follows it all. She did a great job in showing all of these emotions while telling a great story!
Book Review: Just okay, not her best work Summary: 3 Stars
I was dissapointed with this book. It was just okay. I did feel like it was a survival guide to surviving a plane crash in the wilderness as she spent way too much time with the details. I liked the humor between the two lead characters once it got into the main love story (which is almost near the very end). LH usually gives romance throughout the entire book, this one definitely did not. The plot twist was a good one, but the end was just odd as she usually sums things up in the end with more detail of the couple's future.
Book Review: Liked this as an adventure/suspense story, not a romance... Summary: 4 Stars
I enjoyed this one, but not as a romance. There wasn't enough sizzle or romantic tension there for it to have been good romance, but it made up for it in the areas of adventure and suspense. The plot was great, the pacing was good, and the characters were well developed. As a romance, I would've rated it as a 3, as an adventure/suspense novel a 5, so it settled into a 4 overall. Worth the read.
