This is the best book I've ever read of it's kind, I have a decent ammount of experience upgrading but if only I had had this book before, I would have saved several hours of looking on the internet for info that was not accurate or as extensive,or doing trial and error until I got it right. If you're serious about upgrading, repairing, or anything that has to do with computer hardware this is the best for you.Book Review: Reference

If you are building a new computer from scratch, this is a useful resource. Has a lot of basic information (goes back too far with historical information in my opinion). Publishing time makes it somewhat dated for leading edge technology, but that is the nature of a dynamic computer industry. Also, would be somewhat helpful in trouble shoothing an older system. This book more than fits that need and has provided me many solutions to problems I've already encountered at work. I had an earlier edition of this book which did not contain information about later hardware, so I decided to purchase this newest edition. If you are interested in changing or replacing hardware or in fine tuning the BIOS, this book is indispensable. I had a specific concern when I purchased the book and it was quickly answered. The title says it all, this book is a must have for every PC repair tech. It is well researched and loaded with useful information about PC architecture. I have two of the first editions of this book and they have been invaluable to me in the past. This edition covers all the new innovations in PC's and will be just as invaluable as the other two.
