I had the pleasure of sitting next to Dr. Merrill at the Buffalo Book Fair. He is passionate about two things, Vitamin D and helping people improve the quality of their lives. This book tells his story and so much more. The general gist lies within the fact that diminished sun exposure with the accompanying lack of Vitamin D, adversely affects many organs in our bodies, thereby causing a wide range of malfunctioning systems found in such problems as mood and auto-immune disorders, cancers, muscle and bone weakness and generalized pain. In his book, Dr. Merrill presents a comprehensive argument for the inherent value of Vitamin D therapy. For those receptive to a holistic, preventative approach to health, this book will "light" the way.

When sunlight strikes skin it creates vitamin D, and without this nutrient we get weak and sick, are at risk of cancer and lupus, get osteoporosis and get depressed. The scientific literature shows that millions of Americans are deficient in vitamin D. Vitamin D isn't patentable. No one sends out drug reps to sell it to your doctor.
