Book Reviews of Voyager (Outlander)Book Review: Just Ordered the Next Three in Series Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a series that would make me stop rereading Twilight series for the 10th time, I admit I have another obsession. Don't know how I found Outlander, but it certainly has filled my desire for characters with lives I can escape into. Second in series was hard to get through, I just didn't care about French aristocracy. To demonstrate my deep obsession with these characters, as ordering next three, read author's page in Amazon and wept with joy to see there is a movie in the works. Thank you Diana Gabaldon.
Book Review: From one continent to another Summary: 4 Stars
Voyager is the third and novel and of the Outlander series, and definitely one of the premier ones. Historical research on Gabaldon's part shows through in this novel.
Voyager is a double entendre - part of it is related to Claire (and a few others) ability to travel through certain portals located around the world. The other aspect is the voyage of the Scottish Clans (mainly the Jacobites) who were transported from their ancestral homelands to the Colonies on the orders of a Monarch who feared being deposed.
Book Review: Another Triumph in the Outlander Series Summary: 5 Stars
Outlander will always be my favorite in this series but Voyager runs a close race. What can I say about Jamie and Claire that hasn't already been said. The most realistic charactors that you will ever have the pleasure to meet in a story. As much as I loved Dragonfly in Amber, there were parts in the beginning that were a little slow but Voyager starts with a bang and never stops until you finish the last page. Another incredible triumph in one of the greatest epic adventures ever written.
Book Review: An excellent continuation of a fabulous series Summary: 5 Stars
Although this was not my favorite of the first three Outlander books, that's kind of like me saying I prefer Lindt chocolate over Godiva chocolate -- they're all yummy!
"Voyager" was a little hard for me to wrap my mind around at first, as it took me a while to get used to a 20-years-older Jamie, but that hurdle was quickly passed as I got caught up in the book with it's interesting twists and turns.
This series is one of my all-time favorites!
Book Review: The best of the first three! Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far the best of the first three installments in the Outlander series! It has it all -- action, adventure, mystery, romance, intrigue, zany characters, etc. I loved the first two Outlander books, but this was the one I literally could not put down! I have ordered the fourth one and can't wait for it to arrive to see what happens next. Ms. Gabaldon is an EXCELLENT story-teller and I highly recommend this book (and her others) to anyone who loves a good story!
