The way I judge a book is simple. It's not always about whether or not the characters as a whole are completely believable or realistic (I.E. Fire who's character isn't totally realistic but he fit this novel perfectly), although in some books that matters more than others. Also,it doesn't always have to be something I personally can relate to. I judge a book on whether or not I can get into the characters and their personalities and relationships.
I definitely got that from this book. I felt for the characters, sympathized with them, got mad at them, wanted them to make certain decisions and envisioned them in my mind like they were real people. If I can read a book that paints a picture in my mind that clear, so clear that the characters seem real to me during the time I'm reading it then I've gotten everything I wanted.
This book delivers the goods. I loved it!
